About Us
Edwin Cottey, founder of EJC French Property, is a Scottish solicitor and notary public who specialised in property for 16 years before moving to France in 1996. Having spent long holidays in the Var from early childhood, he looks upon Provence as his 'home from home'. He has considerable experience in all aspects of the purchase and sale of property from marketing to conveyancing and enjoys working with the French legal system, which is close to that of Scotland. He is a member of the Law Society of Scotland, member of the Franco-British Lawyers Society and a licenced French Agent Immobilier (Estate Agent) holder of Carte Professionnelle No. 3873, issued by the Prefecture du Var. In addition to buying and selling property in France, he is also pleased to provide a personal Consultancy service to our clients.
His wife, Carole, is originally from England but worked for many years in 'Human Resources' in the oil industry in Aberdeen. Latterly she worked as a welfare officer with a registered charity for the blind and disabled before moving to France. Carole helps by handling the client liaison, responding to emails, enquiries and arranging appointments. She can also suggest accommodation - hotels/B&B/gites etc - which are conveniently located in this area and will be pleased to help if she can.
Edwin and Carole have done what many people hope to do by moving to this beautiful corner of France and can advise on the various issues that clients need to know wherever necessary.
